Palletizing Large items and shipments with many items may best be shipped palletized. When items are palletized, be sure you have a dock loading situation and fork lift. or have requested a nationalmotorfreight lift and jack be brought on the truck. Be aware there is a charge for this added service. Unpackaged Shipments In some cases you may choose to ship an items as is, with no packaging or protection. This may be done with items that because of there size shape and material can and will withstand shipping without protection. generally these items because of there material and use are not easily destroyed of compromised by the shipping environment.
The advantage is protection, the disadvantage is added weight, size and cost. Crating even small items may cost $50.00 - $100.00, with large items costing hundreds of dollars. Double Corrugated Cardboard Using heavy grades (or double layers) of cardboard is often a reasonable option to crating. The majority of items shipped are shipped in this manner.
